Binami Velakotlu has an interesting premise of a filthy rich father Rajan Vasudev (Kalabhavan Mani) so blinded by love for his son Madan (Yuva) that he appoints a binami Uday Vasudev (Vinay) who masquerades as his real son, to ward off business rivals. Both Uday and Madan live under one roof as friends and the doting father supports Madan when both of them fall in love with LR Eswari (Kajal) giving an explanation that Eswari doesn't match upto Uday's status so the alliance with Madan is fine.
The big twist in the story arrives just before break when Rajan Vasudev's rivals shoot Madan by mistake assuming he is Uday and then Rajan is distraught. Uday's rich lifestyle comes to a halt the next day onwards, as his ATM cards don't work and he is not allowed into his office and finds himself on the streets hounded and stalked by strangers. He comes to know the bitter truth from the so called father and vows to teach him a lesson.
Till this point the film is fine, but from hereon the story and screenplay loses steam and the narrative fails to engage you. The splendour and wealth that the brothers indulge in looks very believable but the moment Uday joins hands with a sweeper on the street, the plot loses weight and all the scenes appear half-baked and improbable; The entire process of checkmating Rajan is amateurish. The biggest drawback is the romantic track, there is no intensity in reciprocation, the feelings are all as light and flimsy as the story.
